Yesterday early morning I wanted to go for a walk and didn't realize until I was out of the house how foggy it was. I decided to just go anyway and boy am I glad I did!
I noticed on the way up the hill from my house that the temple looked so great with the black backdrop. I will take you on the picture walk with me and illustrate how fantastic it was!
Coming up the hill from my house
Getting closer

It was as if the fog was all around, but not right here blocking my view and photos

I walked across the street from the temple to the Joseph and Hyrum statues

One of my favorite photos

I decided to take all sides of the temple - so here is the front
The back

The north side

I tried taking a photo of the south side with the flash on and only got this one through the fog reflection

Same photo without the flash on
So I then headed up Main Street to take a few shots of the town in the backdrop of blackness
Historic Hotel Nauvoo

Zion's Mercantile with the Joseph Smith statue

You can see the top of the temple in the fog in the center of the photo
By the time I walked around Main Street for a few minutes, and headed back home past the temple the fog had moved in much thicker.......
South side

Leaving to go home just before the dense fog moved in and the temple was hidden from my view the rest of the way home. Even at the bottom of the hill where I started from the fog was so thick, no light could be seen from the temple - just a white blanket of fog to walk home in!
Thank goodness our home porch light was on to help me find my way back home! What amazing pictures I was able to get before the images were lost in the fog! I felt it was another "tender mercy" .
